Réalisateur, photographe, auteur, animateur et créateur de multiples projets, Youssef Shoufan œuvre dans les milieux artistiques, culturels et sociaux au Québec et ailleurs dans le monde. Observateur et explorateur, il met à profit ses compétences professionnelles et personnelles en communication comme vecteurs de changements positifs pour le court et le long terme.
Né à Damas en 1987 et basé à Montréal depuis 1994, ses valeurs de justice sociale, d’esthétique minimaliste et de représentation des narrations marginalisées sont au cœur de son travail. Pour y arriver, Youssef fait appel à sa créativité, sa curiosité, son écoute, ses outils de médiation, son leadership et son esprit critique.
Il ♥ voyager, rencontrer d’autres humains, jouer aux échecs et au water-polo, descendre les montagnes en glissades d’eau et en snowboard, sauter par-dessus les clôtures et créer des moments d’adrénaline. Médiateur et agnostique, il aime lire et jouer avec les mots, manger des pistaches fraîches, écouter et chanter Jean Leloup, s’inspirer d’êtres humains créatifs, s’imprégner de photographie et de cinéma et apprécier le design et l’art qui transforment notre planète en un monde meilleur.
Director, photographer, author and creator of multiple projects, Youssef Shoufan is very active in the artistic, cultural and social scenes in his hometown and around the world. Observer and explorer, he uses his professional and personal communication skills as vectors of positive change for the short and the long term.
Born in Damascus in 1987 and based in Montréal since 1994, his interests in minimalist aesthetics and his values of social justice and representation of marginalized narratives are at the heart of his work. To do so, Youssef uses his creativity, curiosity, leadership, listening skills, mediation tools and critical thinking.
He ♥ travelling, meeting other human beings, playing chess and water polo going down mountains with his snowboard or by water slides, jump over fences and create adrenaline-driven moments. Mediator and agnostic, he likes reading and playing with words, eating fresh pistachios, listening to and singing to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, taking pictures and filming, enjoying cinema, design and art that positively transform our planet.
